SELF-DENIAL AND HUMILITY Self-denial and humility are among the virtues God gives when we are saved. They are fundamental components of genuine Christianity.Self-denial means deliberately refusing to please the flesh, or satisfy its desires which are contrary to the will of God. It goes beyond fasting. The three Christian experiences - salvation, sanctification and baptism of the Holy Ghost deal with the soul, but self-denial has to do with the flesh.
